UPDATE REGARDING SAFETY OF FLAVOR 1ST TOMATOES – June 13, 2008

FDA recently announced a salmonellosis outbreak associated with red round tomatoes, Romas, and red plum tomatoes, with an alert not to consume those products unless they originated from an area that had been cleared as being safe. (The alert issued did not include grape tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, or tomatoes on the vine.) Flavor 1st is receiving tomatoes only from areas which are on FDA’s “safe list.”
